This Sawyer Creek Cemetery map (now known as Saint Mark Lutheran Cemetery) was originally found in Book 12 on Page 1147.

“The New Cemetery.
The Fairmount Cemetery Association have provided North Tonawanda with one of the handsomest, best appointed cemeteries that can be found in Western New York and are now actively engaged in laying out, landscaping and plotting one-half its grounds.
Two hundred lots are now on the market at low prices, but as soon as these are sold prices will be advanced sharply.
The choicest lots go first. Satisfactory terms are given and there is not a head of family in North Tonawanda who should not give the matter early consideration. For particulars see the adv. on page 8.”1

Since the 1910s, the Daughters of the American Revolution have been transcribing unpublished records to help preserve them. They then publish these as part of the Genealogical Record Committee (GRC) Reports.

One of the GRC Reports is a 208-page volume (#317 of the Cemetery, Church, and Town Record Reports) from the DAR Niagara Falls Chapter (of which I am a member) of records that were copied from the Niagara County Historian’s Office.
The report lists the name of the person that was buried, born, died, and the name of the cemetery.

Though it was initially established decades before as Sawyer Creek Cemetery, St. Mark’s Lutheran Church held a dedication on 8 August 1929 for the St. Mark’s Cemetery. I deduce that perhaps this is when the name was changed and the new cemetery board took over as there are not newspaper articles found for “St. Mark’s Cemetery” prior to 1929.
“Will Dedicate St. Mark’s Cemetery Thursday Night
St. Mark’s Lutheran Church cemetery, located on the Niagara Falls Boulevard, about one half mile north of Wurlitzer, will be dedicated Thursday evening at 8 P. M.
Members of the congregation will assemble at the Parish house on Washington street at 7:20 P.M. and will proceed in a body to the cemetery. Dedicatory ceremonies include singing by the congregation and an address by the pastor of the church, Rev. Paul Fretthold.
The cemetery will be administered by a cemetery board consisting of Charles Meyers, superintendent; Edward Ullmann, Gustave Broecher, Gustave Durow and Martin Starck.
A trust fund will provide maintenance for the cemetery.”3

I have seen a few different notations concerning an old burying ground along the Niagara River in Tonawanda where the bodies were removed to both the Sweeney Cemetery in North Tonawanda and the City Cemetery in Tonawanda.
Being curious as the bodies were relocated to a cemetery in Niagara County, I started doing some searches but wasn’t having much luck finding out when this Niagara River Cemetery existed and exactly where. I tried newspaper searches and found a reference to a recorded deed that I looked up on FamilySearch. The deed included a picture:

Having a few street points now, I looked at various Sanborn maps around the same time and found only one reference to the cemetery in the 1889 map (https://www.loc.gov/resource/g3804tm.g3804tm_g063041889/?sp=7&st=image&r=-0.217,0.722,1.184,0.58,0) and not the 1886 or 1893 ones.
I would be curious to learn if Sweeney Cemetery records indicate the bodies that were once buried at this Niagara River Cemetery and when they were removed to it.

One of the FamilySearch microfilms that has been digitized is the St. Mark’s Episcopal Church records. Included in the records is a section titled “Burials” in which there is a chronological listing of deceased members. Information includes:

Mom and I visited Acacia Cemetery to work on cleaning off lichen and overgrown grass on our family’s headstones. We had a great time and were impressed with the D2 results as it was the first time we had used it.
